It was a sunny afternoon, a European morning. A client emailed me about quality issues with connector components supplied by their existing supplier.
Six months had passed, but the problem remained unresolved. As the stock were running out, production pressure was mounting. This was a significant headache for the client. ⛅
When I contacted the supplier, they offered numerous reasons which they couldn’t meet the client's requirements.
After consulting with the client, we sourced a new supplier and began preparing samples. 🚀
Indeed, just as previously mentioned, many key technical aspects proved difficult to control, making consistent quality difficult.
For this reason, the supplier's samples were rejected three times before I could ship qualified samples to the client. During that period, we kept good communication with the client to confirm these quality issues.
Happily, the client was very satisfied with the quality of the new samples and subsequent orders from the new supplier. ⚓
The client also developed a new project, which has been delivered. 🚢
Thanks to that sunny afternoon, the cloud of worry that had been hanging over our client's head started to lift from that moment on. ☀🌞
We're also grateful to that regretful supplier, not just for giving us an opportunity, but more importantly, for using this challenge to inspire our desire for innovation.
